On November 28 the RA National Assembly Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov received the Deputy Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Gurbangul Bayramova. Welcoming Mrs Bayramova’s visit to the National Assembly, Eduard Sharmazanov noted that the relations of the two countries had always been friendly. Highly appreciating the current level of the bilateral relations he expressed conviction that this visit will give new impetus to the cooperation, for which there was a wide field.
The NA Deputy Speaker touched upon the activity of the inter-parliamentary friendship groups, noting that its enlivening would promote the deepening of further cooperation between the two parliaments.
Eduard Sharmazanov highlighted the neutral stance adopted by Turkmenistan in many issues, also expecting such approach in connection with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He has highly appreciated the care that the authorities of Turkmenistan show towards about twenty thousand our compatriots residing in that country.
Thanking for warm reception Gurbangul Bayramova characterized the relations between Armenia and Turkmenistan as dynamic and positively developing. Highlighting the necessity of further developing of inter-parliamentary relations she underlined the potential that existed in the sphere of economic cooperation, particularly, in the spheres of energy, chemical industries and agriculture. Mrs Bayramova assured that the policy of neutrality of Turkmenistan was unchangeable, and expressed conviction that first of all the sides involved in it should find solutions for conflicts.
Both sides underscored the cooperation in international organizations, in the political, economic, educational, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
